Welcome to the Economic Society of Australia, WA Branch
Welcome to the WA Branch of the Economic Society of Australia.
In Western Australia we are active in bringing together economists in academia, government bodies, and industry to enable networking and the exchange of knowledge and ideas.

Council Members - Meet the WA Branch Council
A Branch Council is elected each year to provide voluntary administration and organisation of the Society. The Council organises functions, engages with students, represents the organisation at conferences and meetings, and advises on the strategic direction of the organisation. We are always looking for members to involve themselves in the running of the organisation.

Each year the Central Council of the Economic Society of Australia makes up to four awards to honour the achievements of Australian economists. Every state Branch of the Society is able to make a nomination for each of the awards.
In addition, the WA Branch provides an annual Student Prize from each of the Universities for excelling in economics subjects and the Austin Holmes Award which “is made to a person who is judged to have made a substantial contribution to economics in WA over their career or who have made a significant innovative contribution to the economics profession in the past year.”
