Policy in the Pub – John Carey, Policy at all levels – 25 September 2018

In achieving our objectives, we have recently increased our focus on the application of economic theory in a wide variety of public and private contexts. As part of this focus, we have established a series of events for professional economists in Government and advisory roles, ‘Policy in the Pub’. The ‘Policy in the Pub’ series is an informal bi-monthly event providing an opportunity to participate in discussion about topical economic issues. It is co-sponsored by the Economic Society and Women in Economics Network’s WA Branch.

At our inaugural Policy in the Pub event, we have the pleasure of hearing from John Carey, the State Member for Perth and Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier.

John’s background and experience at both local and state levels of Government, makes him the perfect candidate to open our series and to talk about the linkage of policy and politics.
