ESA (WA Branch) 2026 Annual General Meeting

The Economic Society of Australia (WA Branch) invites you to attend the 2026 Annual General Meeting* and Annual Dinner.

Date: Wednesday 26 August 2026

Time: AGM: 5:30pm | Annual Dinner: 6:30pm for a 7:00pm start

Venue: The Winestore at Steve’s Bar and Cafe, 30 The Avenue, Nedlands

*Only current members and their nominated proxies are allowed to attend the AGM but all are welcome to the 2026 Annual Dinner.

About the 2026 AGM:

• Only current members are allowed to attend the AGM.
• Members are requested to register for the AGM using the registration button below.
• As a quorum is required, please consider registering a proxy if you cannot attend via email: admin@esawa.org.au by 5:00pm on Monday 24 August 2026.

Nominations:

Nominations for Ordinary Council members and for the Office Bearing positions of President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary must be made in writing, seconded by another member of the Society and accompanied by the written consent of the candidate (if they are not the nominator or seconder).

All nominations must be emailed to admin@esawa.org.au no later than 5:00pm AWST on Monday 24 August 2026.

Please note: Members and their nominated proxies who are registered for the AGM are not automatically registered for the 2026 Annual Dinner - please refer to the following information for details on how to register for the dinner.

About the 2006 Annual Dinner:

• The 2026 Economic Society of Australia (WA Branch) Annual Dinner follows this year's AGM.
• The 2026 Annual Dinner is open to all members and non-members.
• Members and their nominated proxies who are registered for the AGM are not automatically registered for the 2026 Annual Dinner - see below for how to register for the dinner.

Over a sit-down three-course dinner, attendees will be able to mingle and network while ESA-sponsored student prizes and other awards are announced and presented.

We are also delighted to announce that Dr David Gruen AO, Australian Statistician and Agency Head of the Australian Bureau of Statistics, will be this year's after-dinner speaker.

Ordinary/Professional Members: $100
Student Members: $80 (please use the promo code: AGM26-STUDENT)
Non-Members: $150

Dress code: Smart casual

Registrations for the 2026 Annual Dinner are essential for members and guests and must be made by 5pm on Tuesday 18 August 2026.
